Vehicles and Equipment

Currently there are 24 vehicles in operation and in fleet consists of MAN TGS 26-480 units with 34 ton Drop Side Side Tippers and Side Tippers . The fleet travels in excess of 5 Million kilometers per annum, and every vehicle is monitored 24 hours around the clock by very well trained staff.

All vehicles are equipped with satellite tracking units and management systems , all of which is employed , to ensure that personnel knows where every vehicle is at any given time of day or night.

Vehicles are also monitored on performance and utilization, and fuel consumption is of utmost importance to any Transport Operator. All vehicles are equipped with the latest technology, and information can be drawn at any time for reference to any crises that may arise.

Premises

Lantic Logistics is situated in the Honing Klip Area which is used as the Head office. The premises consists of an Office block , Workshops , Tyre bay ,Wash bay, Test bay and Diesel bay , all on 2.7 hectares of land.

Drivers

Every driver, when applying with the company, is put through a stringent training program where the drivers are sending to Driver Academy, which in turn assures that only the most competent drivers are put into production. Drivers are trained in all aspects of transport, and safety which is of utmost importance to us.

Drivers are also not allowed to travel between 11 pm and 3 am, because of the safety aspect involved. All our drivers also attend refresher courses every 6 months at Driver Academy and Safety meetings are regularly held at our premises through various safety officers.

Operations and Management

All the operations and management is based at our head offices in Honing Klip, district Pinehaven, and is handled by an energetic team of highly qualified people. We believe that through training and motivation, we can achieve more reproductive and efficient team of people, from the Top Management through to the drivers and cleaning personnel.

Operational personnel will effectively speak to every driver at least three times per day, to ensure that the drivers know what is expected and where to go. The drivers will report any crises to operations and if the need be , immediate action can be taken to ensure that the customer is informed of the current situation of crises , and how it will be resolved, with unnecessary delays and damage.

Communication

All of the vehicles in the fleet are equipped with onboard cellular telephones, to ensure that contact is kept with every driver and vehicle at all times. Our satellite tracking system is monitored from our offices on a 24 hour basis and we update our customers on a daily basis where any of their loads are.

Loading and Offloading of Consignment

Drivers employed by the company are very competent, in regards to loading and offloading procedures of their vehicles. All staff members are well trained in the do’s and don’ts and will report any problem that may arise of a situation immediately.

Insurance

All loads carried are covered by our comprehensive Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance, and any additional coverage can be arranged by a simple phone call to our offices. We are currently covered for R 500 000 all risk. (Copy available by request)

Workshops and Maintenance

We have a fully equipped workshop at our yard in Honing Klip, trained staff and a very competent and qualified Manager. All on - route breakdowns is reported to operations and relayed to our Workshop Manager, and again relayed to the customers. A MAN approved on site test bay equipped with the latest technology for vehicle brake testing and maintenance is available.

All breakdowns are resolved in the quickest time possible, to ensure the least amount of downtime. Vehicle services are done in house in conjunction with the vehicle manufacturer and no vehicles are allowed to travel beyond its service interval kilometers. This ensures that the possibilities for breakdowns are kept to a minimum.

BEE Compliant

We are fully BEE compliant through a company named SEESA. They assist us by sending their auditors on a biannual basis to update our status and to implement new plans to further increase our score and rating level.
